Steps to Put Multiples Into Action

It is very important for the students to get to know all the basics of mathematics very clear in the mind right from the start as these are going to help children a lot in their future. From addition, subtraction, multiplication, to the advanced topics like multiples, factors, etc are some of the common things that should be known by every student to understand further advanced topics well. Let’s discuss the topic of multiples.

Multiples are the product that a person gets after multiplying with another number. For example, we take the number 30, which has two multiples i.e. 5 and 6. Further the multiples of the number 5 can be 5*1 = 5, 5*2= 10, 5*3= 15, 5*4= 20, 5*5 = 25, 5*6= 30 and the list continues. The basic concept of the multiples will help the children to explore more things in mathematics that are related to the calculations.

Multiplies are a way of multiplying one whole number with another whole number. It is very simple to get the multiples of any numbers, as you need to just multiple it with other numbers and the person will get the final results. Right from the starting years of education, the students are taught to learn the multiplication tables. These are the things that we use in finding the multiples. In the tests, the students will be required to tell the first 5 multiples of the number 7. In this, the student can simply see the table of the number 7 and from there he can find the first five multiples of 7 i.e 7, 14, 31, 28, and 35. This clearly states that a single number can have an infinite number of multiples.

There are certain properties related to multiples that every student must know. Let’s have a look at them.

  • Every number is the multiple of itself: Yes, it is a fact that every number is it’s multiple as the first multiple is always the same as the number. For example, multiples of number 9, will start from the number 9 itself as 9*1= 9, and after that, the series will continue like 18, 27, 36, and so on.
  • Every number has infinite multiples: Yes, there is no limit to the multiples of the number. You can simply multiply the number with any of the absolute numbers and it will provide with its multiple. Suppose we take the list of the multiples of number 4, it will start from 4, 8, 12 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 42, and it will go on to the infinite numbers. You can calculate it just by multiplying it with two numbers.
  • Every number multiples are greater than or equal to that number itself: Yes, indeed, the multiples of a given number cannot be less than that specific number. For example, we take the multiples of the number 12, it will come out to be 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, and so on. This states that multiples are either equal to the number or higher than it.

If the student understands all these properties related to multiples, it will be very helpful; to understand this concept and explore more about it. The students learning about the concept of the LCM and HCF should know about the concept of the multiples so that their working can be made easier.

Even in real life, the concept of multiples is used in different types of business especially in the real-estate one. So the students need to learn this simple concept to get ready for the new challenges in the mathematical field that they need to face in the future. For more information and knowledge about the concept of multiples and other mathematical concepts, it is better to visit the Cuemath website. There you can register your child and can get all the required information to get your kids skilled and polished in a better way.
